How we make decisions about our network
Our leadership team works closely with every department to guide where and how we invest in our network. Decisions about tower builds, upgrades, and new service areas are not made by one person alone. Instead, we gather input from network engineering, operations, member support, and finance. Each group brings a different perspective, and we weigh all of those perspectives before moving forward.
This collaborative approach helps us stay grounded in the needs of the communities we serve. We are a regional provider, which means our leaders live and work in the same areas as you. They understand the local geography, the weather challenges, and the importance of reliable internet for farms, businesses, and families.
The teams that keep you connected
Several departments work together every day to run our network. Their responsibilities are distinct, but they share a common goal: providing you with service you can depend on.
- Network engineering designs the backbone of our system. They decide where to place towers, what equipment to use, and how to plan for future growth. Their work is technical and requires constant study of changing technology and terrain.
- Operations keeps the network running. This team monitors performance, responds to outages, and maintains towers and equipment. They are the hands-on group that works in the field, often in remote locations, to ensure signals stay strong.
- Member support is your direct point of contact. They answer questions, help troubleshoot issues, and relay feedback from you back to the rest of the company. Their daily conversations shape how we understand what matters most to our members.
- Finance ensures we can afford the projects we plan. They analyse costs, manage budgets, and help set priorities so that we can invest without risking the long‑term health of the cooperative. Their work keeps our rates stable and our service sustainable.
Planning tower builds and upgrades
When we consider building a new tower or upgrading an existing one, we start by listening. Requests from members, local councils, and our field technicians all play a part in identifying areas that need better coverage or more capacity.
Network engineering then conducts technical surveys. They evaluate line‑of‑sight, ground elevation, and signal propagation. Our operations team checks road access, power availability, and lease agreements. Finance assesses the total cost and compares it with the expected benefit to the community. Only after all these pieces are in place do we make a final decision.
The process is deliberate, not rushed. We would rather plan carefully and build right the first time than rush into a project that might not serve you well for years to come. Every tower we put up and every upgrade we make is a long‑term investment in the reliability of your internet connection.
